Lowering Barriers to Healthcare in Communities in Crisis

InnovationsCZ envisions a world where marginalized communities have the tools, resources, and support they need to access the basic, essential health services they need.

Our Mission

InnovationsCZ partners with communities in crisis  to identify and address the healthcare inequities that impact their lives. Using a multisectoral approach, InnovationsCZ  transforms the systems that created the problem in the first place through the development of community co-designed prototypes, products, processes, programs, and  platforms. We work to  achieve broad, sustained impact by focusing on the solutions that contribute to the long-term wellbeing and resilience of individuals, communities, and society.

What we do?

InnovationsCZ is highly specialized in designing and implementing community health improvement initiatives.

We seed social innovation through Collaborative Community Based Research, Human Centered Design Prototyping and Production Implementing an Iterative Transformative Process from beginning to end

Our Guiding Principles

  • We focus relentlessly on solving the problems of our communities.
  • We embrace rigor and process so that we can direct resources to the biggest problems.
  • We believe process is not the enemy of innovation. In reality, innovation needs a framework.
  • After we decide what problems to solve, we set out parameters for experimentation and the investment in it.
  • We test, learn, and iterate alongside our colleagues, sand partners to get to the right solutions.
  • We believe a shared space to come together shouldn’t just be for the innovation team within the lab. We can only validate solutions to problems alongside the people faced withwho are having those problems.
  • We have innovation professionals who have mastered the tools available to them and make the lab their job.
  • We hire people who are well-versed in innovation, understand customer development, lean startup, and design thinking.

Why Social Innovation and not Social Entrepreneurship?

Although social entrepreneurship has become a popular rallying point for those trying to improve the world, social change often happens in a more collaborative manner interfacing communities with idea enhancers and the capital needed to make change. As a matter of fact, social solutions have historically come from other sectors including nonprofits, private, public investments, and governmental sectors.

Impacting a system across all scales, affecting not only specific groups, organizations and communities but the whole system at the very broadest level (changes in culture, laws, policy, economy, etc.)

Profoundly changing or transforming a system rather than adapting or improving it

Simply put, social innovation is the process of developing and deploying effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social progres
